DESCRIPTION:<p>Hello!</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>We are Simpliciter\, a new undergraduate journal of philosophy at Brandeis University located in Waltham\, Massachusetts. We aim to recognize excellent works of philosophy produced by undergraduates\, and <strong>we are accepting submissions for our inaugural edition</strong>\, to be published in the spring of 2024.</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>We are looking for philosophy papers from undergraduate students at universities around the world. We will consider papers that make novel contributions to fields such as aesthetics\, epistemology\, ethics\, metaphysics\, political philosophy\, and more\, across a variety of philosophical traditions\, and are primarily interested in papers which address an audience trained in Western philosophy.</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p><u>Why Simpliciter?</u></p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Dedicated editing team.</strong> Our editing team is composed of Brandeis University undergraduates\, who have studied under a highly-ranked philosophy department. We strive to give constructive feedback and to work closely and productively with authors whose submissions are accepted.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Putting student works on the map.</strong> Too often quality undergraduate work in philosophy flies under the radar. At Simpliciter\, we try to ensure that each author's work is appreciated by a wider audience.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Spring conference.</strong> In addition to authors whose works are accepted into the journal\, a larger number of authors may be invited to present about their work at our spring/summer conference. Details to be finalized at a later date.</p>\n</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p><u>Submission Guidelines&nbsp\;</u></p>\n<p><strong>Papers must be submitted here (https://forms.gle/chgZWjgSwKY6cQ5u7) by the end of Sunday\, January 7th\, 2024</strong> to be considered for acceptance. Please familiarize yourself withour guidelines below before submitting:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>You must be a current undergraduate at a post-secondary institution\, or you must have graduated from such an institution within the past six months.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Your paper should not be published or under review at any other sources.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Your paper should be no longer than 3000 words. At the top of your PDF\, include an abstract of about 300 words.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Your paper should be written in English\, in Times New Roman 12 point font\, double spaced\, and formatted as a PDF.
