DESCRIPTION:<p>On Thu 9 November\, at 7 pm AEDT (8 am London 9 Nov)\, please join us for a zoom forum on Christopher Gill's&nbsp\;<em>Learning to Live Naturally: Stoic Ethics and its Modern Significance.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</em>Gill's book is arguably the most significant text on Stoic ethics for a generation\, not only challenging popular misrepresentations\, but bringing Stoic ethics into debates in contemporary virtue ethics and around ecology. &nbsp\; Prof. Gill is the author of numerous works on ancient philosophy\, ancient medicine\, and conceptions of the self in antiquity\,&nbsp\; a founding member of Modern Stoicism. &nbsp\; Prof. Gill will speak for 30 mins\, followed by 15 minute presentations on different aspects of the book by Assoc. Prof. Matt Sharpe (ACU philosophy) and Judy Stove\, assistant editor of&nbsp\;<em>Stoicism Today\,</em>&nbsp\;co-host of the Soul-Searching With Seneca podcast at&nbsp\;https://thewalledgarden.com/\, and a member of the organising team for Stoicon-X Melbourne. <br> There will then be 60 minutes of Q&amp\;A with Christopher Gill</p>
