DESCRIPTION:
Details
\n
The workshop on "Emerging Technologie and&nbsp\;Wellbeing " explores the relationship between technology and well-being. Among the topics discussed at the workshop are Confucian philosophies in today's context\, East Asian views on well-being\, the impact of daily digital habits\, and understanding the line between social media use and addiction. Additionally\, the workshop will look at the significance of technology not just in relation to well-being but also to meaning in life\, and it will shed light on how academic ideas can align with real-world issues in the digital well-being sector. While our primary focus is on&nbsp\;digital&nbsp\;well-being\, we are keen to explore how all new technologies influence well-being.
\n

\n
Speakers will include:
\n
Asia Biega (Max Plank Institute for Security &amp\; Privacy)
\n
Gunter Bombaerts (TU Eindhoven)
\n
Iliana Grosse-Buening (Independent Scholar/ Quiet Social Club)
\n
Julia Brailovskaia (University of Bochum)
\n
Lyanne Uhlhorn (TU Eindhoven)
\n
Markus R&uuml\;ther&nbsp\;(Research Center J&uuml\;lich/University of Bonn)
\n
Pak-Hang Wong (Independent Scholar)
\n
Sebastian Weydner-Volkmann (University of Bochum)
\n
Yiheng Ding (University of Glasgow)
\n

\n
Programm
\n
DAY 1: WEDNESDAY 15th&nbsp\;November
\n
From 13:00&nbsp\;REGISTRATION / COFFEE&nbsp\;/&nbsp\;INTRODUCTION
\n
Peter K&ouml\;nigs (TU Dortmund) &amp\; Matthew Dennis (TU Eindhoven)
\n
13:30&nbsp\;OPENING SESSION #1&nbsp\;(45 minutes)
\n
Pak-Hang Wong (Independent Scholar).&nbsp\;Title: "Confucian Self-Cultivation: How Habits &amp\; Aesthetics Matter to Well-Being and Technology."
\n
14:15&nbsp\;BREAK (15 mins)
\n
14:30&nbsp\;INITIAL DISCUSSION SESSION #2&nbsp\;(45 minutes)
\n
Lyanne Uhlhorn (TU Eindhoven).
