DESCRIPTION:<p>The Traveling Early Modern Philosophy Organization (TEMPO) is now accepting paper abstracts for our April 26-27th\, 2024 conference to be held at Metropolitan State University in Denver\, Colorado. Details\, programs from past iterations\, and other information can be found at http://tempo-conference.net</p>\n<p>We welcome papers on any aspect of Modern philosophy\, roughly understood as the period from Montaigne through Mill.</p>\n<p>Submissions on British philosophy after Hume are particularly encouraged.</p>\n<p>*</p>\n<p>Keynote Presentation: "Why Read Philosophy by Immoral Philosophers?" by Keota Fields (University of Massachusetts\, Dartmouth)</p>\n<p>Plenary Talk by Aminah Hasan-Birdwell (Emory University)</p>\n<p>Panels:</p>\n<p>&ldquo\;Causation in Mental Representation\, a Conversation Betwixt Philosophers: Hume\, Kant\, and Shepherd\,&rdquo\; featuring</p>\n<p>Annemarie Butler (Iowa State University)<br>David Landy (San Francisco State University)<br>Louise Daoust (Eckerd College)</p>\n<p>&ldquo\;Explanation and Gravitation: Boyle\, Newton and Early Modern Science in Dialogue\,&rdquo\; featuring</p>\n<p>Patrick Connolly (Johns Hopkins University)<br>James Mattingly (Georgetown University)<br>Dana Matthiessen (Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science)</p>\n<p>*</p>\n<p>Please prepare 300-500 word abstracts for anonymous review.
