DESCRIPTION:<p>2nd CALL FOR PAPERS</p>\n<p>We are in the process of finalizing our conference program but have reopened the submission process to fill one available presentation time slot.</p>\n<p>We welcome submissions by graduate students in any area of philosophy relating to the conference themes. &nbsp\;Sample topics of interest include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is it to be an autonomous agent?</li>\n<li>Does identity persist?</li>\n<li>Is authenticity a requirement of moral or legal responsibility?</li>\n<li>What makes character traits or decision-making authentic?</li>\n<li>Is autonomy a criterion for political status? A barrier to paternalism?</li>\n<li>Do we value authenticity? If so\, why?</li>\n<li>Is there a distinctly feminist approach to these concepts?</li>\n<li>What importance is attributed to these concepts historically?</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The conference will take a format similar to that of the APA/CPA: 20-25 minute presentation\, followed by the presentation of comments by a UofC graduate student and a discussion period.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Please send the following to UofCphilgradconf2014@gmail.com in .doc(x) or .pdf format:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A cover page containing (a) the author's name\, (b) institutional affiliation\, (c) contact information\, (d) the title of the paper\, (e) a word count\, and (f) abstract.</li>\n<li>The paper itself (max 3\,000 words) prepared for blind review - no information identifying the author or the author's institutional affiliation.</li>\n</ul>
