DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Fifth&nbsp\;Annual Rackham Interdisciplinary Workshop in Ancient Philosophy</strong></p>\n<p><strong><em>Call for Papers</em></strong><strong></strong></p>\n<p><u>University of Michigan at Ann Arbor\, April 12th-13th\, 2024</u></p>\n<p><strong>Keynote Speaker:</strong>&nbsp\;Jessica Moss\, New York University</p>\n<p>The Program in&nbsp\;Ancient&nbsp\;Philosophy&nbsp\;at the University of&nbsp\;Michigan&nbsp\;is pleased to announce the 5th&nbsp\;Annual&nbsp\;Rackham Interdisciplinary Workshop in Ancient&nbsp\;Philosophy. The workshop will take place in-person\, and the event will be held in Ann Arbor\, Michigan on&nbsp\;Friday and Saturday\,&nbsp\;<strong>April 12 and 13\, 2024</strong>.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We invite proposals from graduate students and early career faculty\, on any topic in the field of ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the program at the University of Michigan\, we welcome papers that involve a variety of approaches to the ancient texts\, whether they be analytical\, philological\, literary\, comparative\, or historical. Each presenter will be given 25 minutes for oral presentation\, which will be followed by 20 minutes of formal response and audience discussion.&nbsp\;Please note as well that speakers will be expected to cover their own travel and lodging costs.</p>\n<p>To submit a paper for consideration\, please submit a single\, PDF document containing a 300-500 word abstract to&nbsp\;<strong><u>MichiganAncientWorkshop@gmail.com</u></strong>&nbsp\;as an attachment. The PDF should be suitable for blind review (i.e. contain no identifying information) but the body of the email should contain your name\, paper title\, university affiliation and position.&nbsp\;<strong><u>Abstracts are due no later than&nbsp\;</u><u>March 1\, 2024</u></strong>.&nbsp\;Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by March 10\, 2024.
