DESCRIPTION:<p>The Inquiry Network</a>\, in partnership with Vanderbilt University\, is hosting a workshop on inquiry at Vanderbilt on July 26-27\, 2024. Confirmed speakers include Julia Staffel\, Christoph Kelp\, and Dennis Whitcomb.</p>\n\n<p>We invite submissions of anonymized abstracts (up to 1\,000 words) on any topic related to the philosophy of inquiry. For example\, papers might address topics such as:</p>\n\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Norms of inquiry.</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The relationship between inquiry and interrogative attitudes such as curiosity and suspension of judgment.</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The relationship between inquiry and attention or salience.</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The semantics and pragmatics of questions.</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Virtues and vices of inquiry.</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Inquiry in specific domains\, such as scientific inquiry or philosophical inquiry.</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Historical approaches to inquiry (for example\, work on the American Pragmatists\, ancient Pyrrhonians\, etc.).</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Ethics of inquiry.</p>\n\n<p>Please submit anonymized abstracts (up to 1\,000 words) by <strong>February 29\, 2024 </strong>to inquirynetworkgroup@gmail.com.</p>
