DESCRIPTION:<p>The workshop <strong>&lsquo\;Wittgenstein and Hegel &ndash\; Normativity and Rationality&rsquo\;</strong> invites the submission of &nbsp\;abstracts. The workshop will explore Wittgenstein&rsquo\;s and Hegel&rsquo\;s understanding of rules and mind (Geist) in historical\, logical and practical dimensions.</p>\n<p>The conference will take place at the University of Zagreb (Croatia) on 9-11 September 2024.</p>\n<p><strong>Keynote speakers:&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp\; &nbsp\; Hans-Johann Glock\, University of Zurich\, Switzerland</p>\n<p>&nbsp\; &nbsp\; Elena Ficara\, University of Paderborn\, Germany</p>\n<p><strong>Workshop series:</strong></p>\n<p>This event is part of a workshop series that has already taken place in various cities\, including Dresden (2017)\, Prague (2019)\, Warsaw (2021)\, Barcelona (2022) and Vienna (2023).&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Host and experience:</strong></p>\n<p>The University of Zagreb\, our host\, has a wealth of experience in organising philosophical events. The city of Zagreb itself is a beautiful venue with a Southeast European atmosphere. It was an important intellectual centre in the 19th century and still retains its Austro-Hungarian character with a touch of Eastern European culture. Zagreb offers quality hospitality at reasonable prices\, making the event enjoyable and affordable.</p>\n<p><strong>Organising Team:</strong></p>\n<p>Alexander Berg\, University of Konstanz</p>\n<p>Karlo Gardavski\, University of Zagreb</p>\n<p>Denys Kaidalov\, Charles University</p>\n<p>Bruna Picas\, University of Barcelona</p>\n<p><strong>Publications:</strong></p>\n<p>We have produced various publications that document our work.</p>\n<p>One of them is "Wittgenstein and Hegel: Reevaluation of Difference" by M&aacute\;cha\, Jakub\, and Berg\, Alexander\, published by De Gruyter in 2019 (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1515/9783110572780).&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>At the workshop\, we plan to introduce and discuss another publication with De Gruyter\, edited by Alexander Berg and Denys Kaidalov and titled "Wittgenstein and Classical German Philosophy &ndash\; Logic\, Language\, Life"\, coming in 2024.</p>\n<p>Furthermore\, we intend to capture the further development of the discussions from these events in a subsequent publication with De Gruyter.</p>
