\nDer 11. Kongress der Ö\;sterreichische Gesellschaft fü\;r Philosophie vom 25. bis 28. Februar 2025 in Graz widmet sich dem thematischen Schwerpunkt &ldquo\;Zukunft denken&rdquo\;.
\nIn der Philosophie wird nicht nur nach-\, sondern auch mit- und vorgedacht\, und zwar im Grundlegenden. Wie sich Zukunft denken lä\;sst\, beschä\;ftigt jedoch nicht nur die Philosophie\, sondern Gesellschaften und Menschen allgemein\, heute mehr denn je und das auf globaler Ebene. Die Zukunft birgt Chancen und Risiken. Wissenschaften\, Kü\;nste\, Unternehmen und Alltagskulturen imaginieren Mö\;glichkeiten\, simulieren Szenarien\, versuchen sowohl theoretisch als auch empirisch ü\;ber Konsequenzen nachzudenken und Beziehungen zwischen Bildungs-\, Wissens- und Gesellschaftsentwicklung kritisch zu betrachten und neue Konzeptionen zu erarbeiten.
\nDie Philosophie kann nicht beantworten\, welche Zukunft die Menschheit erwartet\, aber sie kann ihren Beitrag zu Fragen leisten wie: Wie unterscheiden wir Zukunft von der Gegenwart und diese von der Vergangenheit? Was heiß\;t es fü\;r die menschliche Lebensweise in der Zeit zu existieren? Wie weit reicht der Gestaltungsbereich von Menschen? Worin grü\;ndet der Wunsch\, durch technische Entwicklungen der Vergä\;nglichkeit zu entrinnen? Welchen Einfluss haben Technologien auf das menschliche Selbstverstä\;ndnis\, auf die Arbeit und das Leben? Welches Denken kann dazu beitragen\, die Herausforderungen des Klimawandels\, der Globalisierung\, der Digitalisierung\, der Kü\;nstlichen Intelligenz und der militä\;rischen Auseinandersetzungen zu bewä\;ltigen? Wie kann Bildung neu gedacht werden? Welche Verantwortung haben heute lebende Menschen gegenü\;ber zukü\;nftigen Generationen? Wie viel Philosophie steckt in Science-Fiction? Welche Bedeutung kann die Philosophie auch in Zukunft haben\, nicht zuletzt an Bildungseinrichtungen und Universitä\;ten?
\nIn diesem Kontext erö\;ffnet der 11. Kongress der Ö\;sterreichischen Gesellschaft fü\;r Philosophie ein mehrtä\;giges Forum\, wo gemeinsam Zukunft gedacht wird.

\nThe 11th Congress of the Austrian Society for Philosophy will take place from February 25th to 28th\, 2025 at the University of Graz. It is dedicated to the thematic focus "Thinking the Future".
\nPhilosophy not only involves abstract thought\, but also the act of envisioning and anticipating what lies ahead at a fundamental level. However\, contemplating the future concerns not only philosophy but also societies and people in general &ndash\; today more than ever and on a global level. The future holds opportunities and risks. Sciences\, the arts\, businesses and everyday cultures imagine possibilities and simulate scenarios. They try to think both theoretically and empirically about the consequences and the relationships between the development of education\, knowledge and society.
\nPhilosophy cannot answer what future awaits humanity\, but it can contribute to questions such as: How do we distinguish the future from the present and the present from the past? What are the consequences for life to exist in time? How far can humans extend their scope of influence and domination? What underlies the desire to escape mortality through technological developments? What influence do technologies have on human self-understanding\, on work and life? What ways of thinking can help in addressing the challenges posed by climate change\, globalization\, digitalization\, artificial intelligence and military conflicts? How can education be rethought and what options for shaping the future should be developed? What responsibilities and obligations do people living today have towards future generations? What is the relation between philosophy and science fiction? What will be the role of philosophy in the future\, in particular at educational institutions and universities?
\nIn this context\, the 11th Congress of the Austrian Society for Philosophy opens a forum for thinking together about the future.
