DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>ORIENTATION AND DISORIENTATION:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>KANTIAN THEMES IN ANALYTIC PHILOSOPHY</strong></p>\n<p><em>Midterm Conference of the S.I.F.A.</em> (Italian Society for Analytic Philosophy)</p>\n<p>University of Modena and Reggio Emilia</p>\n<p><strong>Reggio Emilia\, 2-3 December 2024</strong></p>\n<p>The deadline for submission <strong>is August 31</strong><strong>st</strong><strong>\, 2024.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Keynote speakers:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Katharina Bauer (Erasmus University Rotterdam)</li>\n<li>Andrew Chignell (Princeton University)&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>Andrea Kern (University of Leipzig)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>General Aim</strong></p>\n<p>The Conference aims to gather papers in all domains of analytic philosophy which are directly or indirectly related to Kant&rsquo\;s conception of orientation.</p>\n<p><strong>CALL</strong></p>\n<p>This conference aims to address the import and impact of Kant&rsquo\;s metaphor of orientation in analytic philosophy\, with regard to epistemology\, perception theory\, cognition theory\, moral<br> philosophy\, theory of practical and moral reasoning\, action theory\, aesthetics\, and history of analytic philosophy.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The <em>Italian Society of Analytic Philosophy</em> invites submitted symposia and papers for this meeting. Submissions will be blind-refereed and selected on the basis of quality and philosophical relevance.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Topics might include\, but are not limited to:&nbsp\;</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kant on orientation in (moral) thinking</li>\n<li>The metaphor of orientation/disorientation</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation in (moral\, political) thinking</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation in thinking</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation in perception and self-perception</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation in knowledge\, and self-knowledge</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation and mutual recognition</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation and cognition</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation and judgment</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation and (shared\, collective) action</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation and (epistemic\, moral\, political) conflict</li>\n<li>Orientation and disorientation and (epistemic\, practical\, moral\, political) reasoning</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Session Papers</strong> should not exceed a length of <strong>25 minutes</strong> (about 12 double-spaced pages) for a total <strong>60 minutes session</strong>.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Symposia</strong> are allocated a two-hour slot and consist of a set of 4 papers on a common theme.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Symposia organisers should submit an outline of the symposium along with a list of speakers and abstracts as a single document.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Please do not submit more than one PDF file per symposium.<br>&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS</strong></p>\n<p>All submissions will be blind reviewed. The selection process will focus on quality and philosophical significance. Abstracts must be written in English\, submitted as pdf files\, and prepared for blind review.
