CALL FOR PAPERS / APPEL A CONTRIBUTION
\n\n\n\nThe Socié\;té\; d&rsquo\;É\;tudes Platoniciennes will hold the SEP WORKSHOP 2024 on October 24th and 25th at the Université\; Jean Moulin Lyon 3. This event\, open to the public\, is dedicated to the presentation of ongoing research\, unpublished\, on Plato\, before the members of the Socié\;té\; d&rsquo\;É\;tudes Platoniciennes.
\n\n\n\nThis year\, the Workshop will focus on Plato&rsquo\;s Laws and its enemies.
\n\n\n\nIt will aim at reading Plato&rsquo\;s Laws on its critical and polemical side. What and who do the Laws fight against? The existing Greek laws? The behaviors Plato purports to eradicate through this judicial construction? The contemporary thinkers against whom Plato devises his own moral and political project? To identify Plato&rsquo\;s theoretical\, historical\, and political enemies in this dialogue\, we project to read the Laws in conjunction with its political\, ideological\, and legal context.
\n\n\n\nIn that perspective\, we will have the pleasure of welcoming distinguished scholars including Vincent Azoulay\, Cinzia Bearzot\, Luc Brisson\, Etienne Helmer\, Melissa Lane\, Arnaud Macé\; and Pierre Pontier.
\n\n\n\nThe Workshop is open to confirmed scholars as well as PhD students\, for contributions in French and English.
\n\nTo submit a paper for consideration\, please submit a single\, suitable for blind review PDF document\, containing a 300-500 words abstract to \;platoslawsworkshop.lyon@gmail.com as an attachment. Please indicate your name\, paper title\, university affiliation and position in the body of the email. The final version of the project should be suitable for a 35 to 40-minute presentation\, followed by 15-minute of discussion.

\n\nAbstracts are due no later than \;June 15th\, 2024.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLa Socié\;té\; d&rsquo\;É\;tudes Platoniciennes tiendra ses Ateliers 2024\, les 24 et 25 octobre à\; l&rsquo\;Université\; Jean Moulin Lyon 3. Cette manifestation publique est dé\;dié\;e à\; la pré\;sentation de travaux en cours\, non encore publié\;s\, sur Platon\, devant les membres de la Socié\;té\; d&rsquo\;É\;tudes Platoniciennes.
\n\n\n\nCette anné\;e\, le thè\;me choisi est «\; \;les Lois de Platon et leurs ennemis \;»\;.
\n\nLe colloque aura pour objectif de lire les Lois en partant d&rsquo\;une perspective critique et polé\;mique. Contre qui et contre quoi les Lois se posent et s'opposent-elles \;? \;Contre les lois grecques existantes \;? Contre les comportements que les institutions juridiques permettront d&rsquo\;é\;radiquer \;? Ou contre les penseurs contre lesquels Platon é\;labore son propre projet moral et politique \;? Afin d&rsquo\;identifier les ennemis thé\;oriques\, historiques et politiques de Platon dans ce dialogue\, il s&rsquo\;agit de lire les Lois à\; la lumiè\;re de son contexte politique et juridique.
\n\n\n\nNous aurons le plaisir d&rsquo\;accueillir en ce sens les interventions de Vincent Azoulay\, Cinzia Bearzot\, Luc Brisson\, Etienne Helmer\, Melissa Lane\, Arnaud Macé\; et Pierre Pontier.
\n\n\n\nLes Ateliers sont ouverts aux chercheurs confirmé\;s aussi bien qu&rsquo\;aux doctorants et aux contributions en langues franç\;aise et anglaise.
