Abstract: \;

As it is well known the great work of art following Kant must be exemplarily original. Since Kant doesn&rsquo\;t positively describe originality but makes negative distinctions when he refers to mannerism and imitation\, it remains vague what exactly is meant by originality. Particularly it is worth to clarify the distinction between originality and novelty on the one side\, and to point to the difference between originality and idiosyncrasy on the other side\, which is expression in a peculiar personal manner. A key to the understanding of this tripartite relation lies the notion of communicability. \;
