DESCRIPTION:<p>This Werkmeister Conference concerns the imagination and its relation to other aspects of the mind. Questions we wish to discuss during the workshop include\, but are not limited to:</p>\n<p>What is the relationship between so-called &ldquo\;propositional&rdquo\; and &ldquo\;imagistic&rdquo\; imagining?</p>\n<p>How does imagination make for knowledge?</p>\n<p>What relation does imagination bear to the rest of the cognitive economy\, e.g.\, desire\, memory\, perception\, emotion?</p>\n<p>What role does imagination play in scientific theorizing and understanding?</p>\n<p>How might the imagination relate to certain mental illnesses\, e.g.\, OCD\, depression\, etc.?</p>\n<p>How does historical work on these topics intersect (or contrast) with contemporary approaches?</p>\n<p>We welcome <strong>abstracts </strong>of <strong>800-1000 words</strong> (excluding references) on these or other topics concerning the imagination to be submitted by <strong>October 30\, 2024\, 11:59 PM EST</strong> to <strong>imaginationfsu2025@gmail.com</strong>.&nbsp\;</p>
