DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>OFA10 - Call for Abstracts</strong></p>\n<p>The OFA<em> </em>(Oficina de Filosofia Anal&iacute\;tica) is a graduate conference in analytic philosophy (broadly construed) that has been co-organized by the&nbsp\;<a href="http://www.spfil.pt/">Portuguese Philosophy Society</a><strong>&nbsp\;</strong>(SPF) and the&nbsp\;<a href="http://spfilanaliticaeng.weebly.com/">Portuguese Society for Analytic Philosophy</a><strong>&nbsp\;</strong>(SPFA) since 2006 and by the <a href="http://www.lancog.com/">LanCog</a>research group and the <a href="http://centrofilosofia.org/">Centre of Philosophy</a><strong></strong>of the University of Lisbon since 2012.</p>\n<p>OFA&rsquo\;s main goal is to provide a stimulating environment for graduate students and recent post-docs to present and discuss their research. OFA accepts submissions from Portuguese researchers\, researchers based in Portugal\, and from international researchers. OFA aims to reinforce the academic links between the Portuguese and the international community of researchers in philosophy\, contributing to their training and raising their standing in the overall international scene.</p>\n<p>Participants are also invited to attend the <a href="http://www.lancog.com/petrus-hispanus-lectures.html">Petrus Hispanus Lectures 2014</a>\, which will be delivered by Prof. <a href="https://software.rc.fas.harvard.edu/lds/research/carey/susan-carey"><strong>Susan Carey</strong></a> (Harvard University) on 27 and 29 May 2014.</p>\n<p>This call for abstracts is directed at all graduate students and researchers who have obtained their PhDs in philosophy within the last 2 years. All submitted abstracts must be in English or Portuguese\, in the analytic tradition (broadly construed)\, with no further restrictions as regards topics or areas.</p>\n<p><strong>Contributed Papers</strong></p>\n<p>Authors should send an abstract of 1500 words (where the thesis defended and the arguments backing them up should be clearly stated). Abstracts must be submitted to:</p>\n<p>Abstracts should be arranged for blind anonymous review. Abstracts containing identifying references (author&rsquo\;s name\, citations\, publications\, acknowledgements or meta-data) will be disregarded. Information about authors should be indicated on a separate title page including title of the paper\, author&rsquo\;s full name\, e-mail address and affiliation. The selection will be carried out by the members of our scientific committee and authors will be informed by email of the final decisions (see deadlines bellow).</p>\n<p>Note: Authors may also express their interest to participate as commentators.</p>\n<p><strong>Commentators</strong></p>\n<p>Those interested in participating as commentators should send their data (name\, e-mail address\, affiliation and a short CV) to . A description of the main areas of philosophy in which they are interested will also be required.</p>\n<p><strong>Deadlines</strong></p>\n<p>Submitted abstracts will be accepted until 31 January 2014. The result of the selection process will be communicated to the authors by mid March 2014.
