Perhaps the most notorious one is as speech that includes expressively loaded words &ndash\; i.e.\, words that convey emotional attitudes on the part of the speaker &ndash\; like slurs and epithets\, which are potent tools to transmit rage and resentment and to cause harm. Other forms comprise the spreading of misinformation and the exercise of communicative injustices that exclude targets and erode democratic ideals. In this workshop we aim to dive into issues related to the harmfulness of hateful and manipulative language\, such as:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>The expressive dimension of language\;</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Silencing\, distortions and other communicative injustices\;</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Hate speech in the digital era\;</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>How to mitigate hate speech: regulation and &ldquo\;more speech&rdquo\;</p>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Attendance:</p>\n<p>Attendance will be exclusively online via the following Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83000922674</p>\n<p>All are welcome to attend!
