This dominance was not\, however\, uncontested\, and early modern thinkers began to disparage and eventually reject the highly technical &ldquo\;philosophy of the schools&rdquo\;. But\, in the later part of the twentieth century\, Aristotelian philosophy began an incredible come-back\, first in newly developed theories of ethics and political philosophy\, and then in highly influential and popular theories of metaphysics. After providing insight into these new Aristotelian-inspired philosophical movements\, I will offer some explanation for the rise in relevance and popularity of&nbsp\;Aristotle&rsquo\;s thought in the twenty-first century.</p>
