DESCRIPTION:<p>The Ancient Philosophy Society for the Study of Ancient Greek and Roman Thought will be hosting an online panel on the subject of homecoming (<em>nostos</em>) featuring Jenny Strauss Clay\, Chelsea Harry\, and Michael Shaw (September 14th\, 12pm EDT/GMT-4). &nbsp\; &nbsp\; <em>NOSTOS</em>: An APS Panel Discussion &nbsp\; &nbsp\;with &nbsp\; Jenny Strauss Clay (University of Virginia)\, "Penelope's&nbsp\;<em>Nostos</em>: Weaving Wor[l]ds" \;&nbsp\; Chelsea Harry (Southern Connecticut State University)\, "Sappho&nbsp\;and Coming Again"\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\;Michael Shaw (Utah Valley University)\, "Empedocles on&nbsp\;<em>Ogygia.</em>"&nbsp\; &nbsp\;&ldquo\;<em>Nostos&rdquo\;&nbsp\;</em>means &ldquo\;homecoming&rdquo\; in Ancient Greek and is a foundational concept in Ancient Greek culture: Homer&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;<em>Odyssey</em>&nbsp\;is the epic tale of Odysseus&rsquo\;&nbsp\;<em>Nostos&nbsp\;</em>after the Trojan War\, defining his role as a hero.
