What are the implications of economic sanctions and trade wars\, which emerge at an increasing pace? For many countries\, the weaponization of currencies along with the imposition of tariffs seem to be a suitable tool to ensure a competitive advantage. However\, what are the long-term effects of these measures on global wealth? The reaction of central banks to geopolitical shocks influences the development of the global economy significantly as well. To this end\, what would be the right monetary policies to ensure sustainable global growth? These and other questions will be addressed at this interdisciplinary conference\, which will also consider ethical implications of trade barriers\, and the impact of financial regulations on global trade.
\n
Suggested topics:
\n
&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Responsible management of geopolitical risks
\n
&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Ethics\, supply chains\, and free trade
\n
&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Financial system and the economics of sanctions
\n
&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; How should monetary policy react to geopolitical shocks?
\n
&nbsp\;
\n
More Information: The conference is hosted by the Department of Finance\, University of Vienna\, and supported by our partners at the Saint Anselm College Center for Ethics in Business and Governance\, the St. Andrews Centre for Responsible Banking &amp\; Finance\, the Institute for Cybernetics and Geopolitical Analysis (ICGA)\, and the Hayek Institute.
