DESCRIPTION:<p>The 70th annual meeting of the Florida Philosophical Association will be held January .31-February 1st hosted in St. Augustine by Flagler College.</p>\n<p><strong>Organizers</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Katherine Sweet\, Flagler College</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Susan Peppers-Bates\, Stetson University</p>\n<p><strong>Regular Submission</strong><strong></strong></p>\n<p>Submission deadline: November 1\, 2024</p>\n<p>Papers in all areas of philosophy are welcome.&nbsp\; The FPA seeks especially to broaden the subdisciplines of philosophy represented at its conference in order to truly represent the many kinds of philosophy that Florida philosophers practice.</p>\n<p>Papers submitted for inclusion in the regular program must be prepared for anonymous review and limited to a presentation time of 30 minutes (approximately 12 double-spaced pages or 3\,000ish words). In the regular program\, another 20 minutes is allotted for discussion.</p>\n<p>Papers must be submitted directly to speppers@stetson.edu</p>\n<p>Please direct any questions regarding the submission process to the Program Coordinator at: </p>\n<p><strong>Outstanding Graduate Paper Award</strong></p>\n<p>Graduate students submitting papers for the regular program may elect to have their papers considered for the Outstanding Graduate Paper Award. The author of the winning paper will receive a monetary award. Only students at Florida colleges and universities are eligible.&nbsp\; Please indicate eligibility on the Google Form when submitting.</p>\n<p><strong>Undergraduate Paper Awards</strong></p>\n<p>Undergraduate students may submit papers for special award consideration in one of two categories:</p>\n<p>The Gerritt and Edith Schipper Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Philosophy Paper in a Four-Year College or University </p>\n<p>or</p>\n<p>The Outstanding Undergraduate Paper in a Two-Year College</p>\n<p>The author of the winning paper will receive a monetary award. Only students at Florida colleges and universities are eligible.</p>\n<p><strong>Special Sessions</strong></p>\n<p>Proposals for special panel sessions are welcome.&nbsp\; Your suggestions should be sent to the Program Coordinator at: speppers@stetson.edu</p>\n<p>To submit a proposal for a panel session\, the panel organizer should prepare and submit a panel presentation document with the following components:</p>\n<p>Panel title</p>\n<p>Participants</p>\n<p>A panel abstract that provides an overview of the panel&rsquo\;s topics and ideas</p>\n<p>A panel brief by each of the proposed panel members that would be the basis of the panelist's presentation.</p>\n<p>The FPA also welcomes other philosophy organizations with significant Florida membership to arrange concurrent sessions at the annual FPA meeting.&nbsp\; Please express interest to the Program Coordinator at: speppers@stetson.edu</p>
