DESCRIPTION:<p>In 2020\, the journal <em>Verifiche</em> dedicated a double special issue &ndash\; titled <a href="http://www.verificheonline.net/riviste/hegel-and-in-on-translation/">&ldquo\;Hegel and/in/on Translation</a>\,&rdquo\; edited by Sa&scaron\;a Hrnjez and Elena Nardelli &ndash\; to the relationship between Hegel&rsquo\;s philosophy and the topic of translation. This special issue of <em>Verifiche</em>\, &ldquo\;Heidegger and/in/on Translation\,&rdquo\; aims to build upon this philosophical and editorial project\, this time addressing the specificity of the relationship between Heidegger&rsquo\;s philosophy and practical and theoretical questions related to translation.</p>\n<p>This relationship can be approached on three different levels:</p>\n<p>1)&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The level of the explicit observations on translation voiced by Heidegger in various of his works.</p>\n<p>2)&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The level of Heidegger&rsquo\;s own translation activities and the extent to which they formed a constitutive and decisive moment in the development of his philosophical project.</p>\n<p>3)&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The level of translations of Heidegger&rsquo\;s works into other languages and traditions\, that is to say\, the level of the reception and effects of translations of Heidegger&rsquo\;s vocabulary and prose.</p>\n\n<p>The following questions may serve as guides for analysis:</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Is it possible to deduce a theory of translation from Heidegger&rsquo\;s works?</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; What role did Heidegger&rsquo\;s translations of ancient thinkers (Aristotle\, Sophocles\, Heraclitus\, Anaximander\, Laozi\, among others) play in the genesis of his own philosophy? And what is the connection between these translations and Heidegger&rsquo\;s theoretical remarks?</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; What are the main difficulties faced by those who undertake the task of translating Heidegger&rsquo\;s vocabulary and style? To what extent have these choices influenced the reception of his philosophy\, ushering in new traditions of thought?</p>\n\n<p>Manuscripts must be no longer than 35\,000 characters. Papers should be in English\, Italian\, French\, German\, Spanish or Portuguese\; other languages can be considered upon agreement with the editors.</p>\n<p>Full papers should be sent to the editors\, Elena Nardelli (<a href="mailto:elena.nardelli@unipd.it">elena.nardelli@unipd.it</a>) and Luca Illetterati (<a href="mailto:luca.illetterati@unipd.it">luca.illetterati@unipd.it</a>)\, by <strong>June 30 2025. </strong>Please also include a short abstract (approx. 1\,500 characters)\, 4&ndash\;10 keywords\, and a title in English.</p>\n<p>Before sending your contribution\, please consider the <a href="http://www.verificheonline.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/verifiche-editorial-guidelines-articles-extended-version.pdf">Guidelines for Authors</a>.
