DESCRIPTION:<p>This is a call for submission to the flagship annual conference of the <em><strong>International Social Ontology Society</strong></em><strong></strong>\, this year taking place at Trinity College Dublin August 5-8th\, 2025.</p>\n<p>Those interested should submit abstracts of 300-500 words to (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=so2025) by December 10th\, 2024\, on any area of social ontology.</p>\n<p>Topics include\, but are not limited to\, the following:</p>\n<p>- The ontology of the social world\; the nature and existence of social phenomena</p>\n<p>- Collective intentionality</p>\n<p>- The ontology of social kinds (e.g.\, race\, gender\, class)</p>\n<p>- Social structures and opaque kinds of social facts</p>\n<p>- Shared\, joint\, or collective action</p>\n<p>- Shared\, collective\, or corporate responsibility</p>\n<p>- Collective or shared beliefs\, intentions\, and emotions</p>\n<p>- Linguistic or mental representations of social phenomena</p>\n<p>- Social skills\, habits\, and practices</p>\n<p>- Trust\, cooperation\, and competition</p>\n<p>- The concept of social power and stratification</p>\n<p>- The nature\, evolution\, and function of social norms</p>\n<p>- The structure of institutions\, firms\, and organizations</p>\n<p>- The ontology of money and economics including unintended effects</p>\n<p>- The method(s) of social ontology</p>\n<p>- Approaches to the metaphysics of the social world</p>\n<p>- Critical social ontology</p>\n<p>- Social norms</p>\n<p>- Ontology and injustice and oppression</p>\n<p>- Ideal and non-ideal social ontology</p>\n<p>Interdisciplinary contributions are encouraged.</p>\n<p>Additionally\, junior scholars will have the opportunity when submitting to signal interest in attending a one-day summer school event the day before the conference focused on how best to make interdisciplinary contributions to or with social ontology\, led by experts with a demonstrated ability to make these contributions.</p>
