DESCRIPTION:<p>As violent conflicts continue to plague humanity\, we need critical thinking about war\, peace\, and nonviolence.&nbsp\; This special issue of <em>Ethical Perspectives</em> aims to publish philosophical arguments and critical reflection on issues that arise in thinking about war\, peace\, and nonviolence.&nbsp\; Although discussion of current conflicts and particular cases is relevant\, we encourage papers that go beyond topical case studies and which aim to make a larger\, philosophical point. This general topic includes (but is not limited to):</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Questions about justice in war and the just war tradition</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Defenses or critiques of pacifism and nonviolence</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Evaluations of ethical issues related to peace-building and peace-keeping</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Conceptual analyses of war\, peace\, violence\, and nonviolence</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Critiques of militarism and other systems</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Critical analyses of authors or activists who discuss war\, peace\, or nonviolence</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Discussions of hope and despair in pursuit of world peace</p>\n<p><u><br></u></p>\n<p><u>Details for submissions</u></p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Please contact the Guest Editor\, Andrew Fiala\, about interest or intent to submit.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Submissions for this special issue should be sent Andrew Fiala: afiala@csufresno.edu&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Papers should be between 5\,000 and 9\,000 words (inclusive of notes/references)</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Papers will be reviewed for relevance by the Guest Editor and then undergo the normal review process for the journal: two referees\; the editor-in-chief makes final decisions. Several rounds of revisions may be requested.
