DESCRIPTION:
Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion Conference on Existential Commitments and the Ethics of Belief
\n
Friday\, March 21st-Saturday\, March 22nd\, 2025
\n
Keynote Speakers: Robert Pasnau (Colorado)\, Laura Frances Callahan (University of Notre Dame).&nbsp\;
\n
The Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion (3PR) invites submissions of 500-word abstracts for papers relating to the conference theme\, &ldquo\;Existential Commitments and the Ethics of Belief.&rdquo\;

We construe these topics broadly. &ldquo\;Existential commitments&rdquo\; could include (among other things) religious commitments\, ethical commitments\, or social and political commitments\, and we would welcome relevant papers in contemporary philosophy\, the history of philosophy\, theology\, ethics\, or religious studies. In addition to work relating to the ethics of belief\, we also welcome submissions on other mental states or attitudes\, insofar as they are related to belief.
\n
Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be prepared for anonymous review\, accompanied by a separate document revealing author name and contact information\, and be submitted by December 10\, 2024. Notification of acceptance can be expected by early January 2025.
\n
Please submit abstracts via this link: https://forms.gle/ZKNFpLzp1RFzEK1M9
\n
Talks will be approximately 35 minutes with 35 minutes for Q&amp\;A. We plan to accept six abstracts.&nbsp\;
\n
3PR is a project of the University Center for Human Values\, the Philosophy Department\, and the Religion Department at Princeton University.
