The annual philoSOPHIA: a society for transcontinental feminism welcomes undergraduate student papers for a special panel. Accepted undergraduate papers are eligible for publication in Medusa: An Undergraduate Journal of Feminist Philosophy. There will also be a student prize of $250.
\nThis year's conference theme is "Critical Borderlands." We seek to explore how feminist thought engages with borderlands\, understood not only as physical and geopolitical spaces but also as philosophical\, social\, and existential terrains that shape identities\, culture\, and knowledge. Preference will be given to papers in line with this year's theme of Borderlands\, but all papers related to transcontinental feminist scholarship will be considered.
\nPossible topics include:
\n- Border thinking and environmental justice
\n- Transnational feminisms and global solidarity
\n- Pedagogies and practices of border crossing
\n- Thought of the Global South and decolonial feminsims
\n- Biopolitics and necropolitics of the border
\n- Embodied and affective feminisms in border contexts
\n- Migration\, displacement\, and refugee experiences
\n- Intersectional approaches to border theory
\n- Feminist epistemologies and border knowledges
\n- Feminist coalitions and resistance in borderlands
\nSubmit full papers of 2500-3000 words\, prepared for anonymous review as a word document\, labeled "Borderlands_Title." Also submit a separate cover page including name\, affiliation\, and contact information.
