DESCRIPTION:<p>The second annual conference of the ICCS &ldquo\;AI and Sentience&rdquo\; will be held on July 3-5\, 2025\, in Heraklion\, Crete. The conference will cover the main topics on the cross of AI and consciousness studies\, focusing on sentience:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is AI sentience possible?</li>\n<li>What is AI sentience?</li>\n<li>How to detect sentience in AI systems?</li>\n<li>What are the limits of AI sentience?</li>\n<li>What theories of consciousness can explain AI sentience?</li>\n<li>What the possibility of AI sentience tells us about human and animal consciousness?</li>\n<li>How close are we to AI sentience?</li>\n<li>What are the moral implications of AI sentience?</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The conference will include plenary sessions and discussions with invited speakers\, symposia and poster presentations.&nbsp\;Each symposium will consist of four short presentations (up to 10 minutes) and a longer moderated discussion. The main aim of the symposia is to raise a controversial problem and involve the participants and the audience in conversation.</p>
