SUMMARY:Philosophy of Mechanics: Mathematical Foundations
UID:20260406T012259Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-f5d4878dd-4s97k
TZID:Europe/Paris
LOCATION:Condorcet building 10\, rue Alice Domon et Léonie Duquet \, Paris\, France
DESCRIPTION:
The aim of the workshop is to explore\, from a philosophical standpoint\, new answers to old and fundamental questions concerning the nature of both classical and quantum mechanics. The chosen approach is to focus on mathematical formalisms that have not yet played a major role when trying to address these conceptual questions. Important examples of these formalisms are :
\n
- Symplectic and Poisson geometry\,
- Noncommutative geometry&nbsp\;
- Geometric quantization\,
- Group representation theory&nbsp\;
- Topos theory\,
- Equivariant cohomological methods (e.g. BRST cohomology\, stacks)
