LAUNCH OF THE COMPLETE HISTORICAL AND CRITICAL DIGITAL EDITION OF É\;MILIE DU CHÂ\;TELET&rsquo\;S INSTITUTIONS DE PHYSIQUE (THE PARIS MANUSCRIPT BNF MS.FR. 12265)
\nIt is with great pleasure that the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists at Paderborn University\, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ruth E. Hagengruber\, invites you to the launch of the historical and critical digital edition of É\;milie Du Châ\;telet&rsquo\;s Institutions de Physique.
\nThis project\, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)\, presents an unprecedented textual reconstruction of the multiple versions contained in the Paris manuscript and the printed editions of 1740 and 1742. The edition highlights significant additions and changes\, offering unique insights into É\;milie Du Châ\;telet&rsquo\;s working methods and intellectual processes. This important work contributes to a deeper understanding of the Enlightenment\, early modern philosophy\, and the often-overlooked role of women philosophers in shaping the history of philosophy and its canon.
\nThe launch event will take place on December 17\, 2024\, at 2:00 PM (CET) in Room L3 204 at Paderborn University and will also be accessible online. The event will feature a detailed presentation of the edition and the innovative digital humanities tools and methods employed in this project\, delivered by the editorial team.
