DESCRIPTION:<p>Submissions are welcome for an article aimed at a general audience on the topic of panpsychism\, or pantheism/panentheism\, or the connections between the two. The article may explore relevant scientific or philosophical issues\, or both. We welcome articles that are critical of panpsychism/pantheism/panentheism\, as well as those that are supportive. The winning essay will have the chance to publish in <em>Aeon</em> magazine. Our panel of judges will apply the following criteria:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>General academic quality:</em> Analytic rigour\, strength of argument\, etc.</li>\n<li><em>Public interest</em>: How worthwhile it is for this perspective to be conveyed to a general audience.</li>\n<li><em>Accessibility</em>: How clear the meaning is to those with no background knowledge of the topic.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Prize</u>: The author of the winning submission will receive of prize of &pound\;1000.</p>\n<p>Submissions should be between 1\,000 and 3\,000 words. Authors should prepare their submissions for blind review and include a cover sheet with an abstract (150 words maximum)\, their name\, institutional affiliation (if they have one)\, and contact information. The winner will be announced at the beginning of the summer of 2025.</p>
