Decolonization is an approach to deconstructing categories of thought\, politics\, and society. This approach proposes a critique of dominants models - intellectual\, political\, social\, and even spiritual - as imposed in the colonized countries. Decolonization consecrates questioning our habits and ways of acting\, paying particular attention to the Other. It is then a question of relationship to otherness in the intercultural debate\, with at its center the problem of plurality of perceptual fields as a deliberative and normative place. This approach brings out at least three fundamental questions: On the intellectual level\, how does decolonization (of knowledge and/or thought) give back to marginalized knowledge and understanding (minority knowledge) its rightful place in the cultural-intellectual debate? On the political level\, how do we think and implement institutional structures (legal\, state\, supra-state\, and even humanitarian) that no longer simply reproduce the dominant ideology of a particular tradition? Finally\, on the symbolic level\, what awareness mechanisms or self-recovery to reconstruct one&rsquo\;s identity and rethink the conditions of possibility of authenticity? \; This seminar\, therefore\, proposes to address these different questions around the following themes: &bull\; Concept and conceptions of decolonization &bull\; Justice and decolonization of knowledge &bull\; Law and decolonization &bull\; Justice\, Duty of memory and reparation &bull\; Symbolic forms\, institutions\, and colonial stigmata &bull\; Justice and decolonization of humanitarian institutions &bull\; Justice and decolonization of political institutions &bull\; Justice and decolonization of academic institutions &bull\; Justice and decolonization of economic institutions \;

\nProposals for participation\, from 300 to 500 words\, from doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows must be sent to Alain Christophe ESSENGUE (alainngosso@gmail.com) or Emmanuel JOSEPH (Emmanuel.Joseph@usherbrooke.ca) and ethicslab@ucac-icy.net no later than February 28\, 2025.
\nConsidering that the sub-themes listed above are not exhaustive\, candidates are free to make proposals related to the theme of the seminar Justice and Decolonization. After reviewing the proposals\, a notice of acceptance will be sent no later than March 28\, 2025 so that participants can best prepare for their trip. Although we welcome abstracts in French and English\, the seminar activities will be held in both languages. A minimum level of proficiency in a non-native language is strongly recommended.
\nRegistration: &euro\;100 for participants affiliated with African universities and &euro\;300 for participants affiliated with non-African universities. Fees must be paid no later than May 30\, 2025.
