Intentionality &\; Intentionality of Emotions
\n\;(October 2-12 2025\, hybrid)

\nWe invite submissions for the third meeting of Balkan Analytic Forum (BAF3) organized by the University of Belgrade to be held in person and online in October 2025.
\nBalkan Analytic Forum is intended to establish a platform for discussion where scholars related to the Balkans and interested in analytic philosophy can meet on a regular basis and present their work-in-progress or recent publications\, but it also welcomes approaches that draw connections between analytic philosophy and other philosophical traditions.
\nThe topic of the BAF3 is Intentionality &\; Intentionality of Emotions and it will be hosted by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade\, Serbia from October 2-12\, 2025.
\nThe first part of the conference &ldquo\;Intentionality&rdquo\; will take place from October 2-5\, 2025\, the second &ldquo\;Intentionality of Emotions&rdquo\; from October 11-12. However\, the period between will be open to other events\, such as individual talks related to intentionality.
\nI) For the first part we welcome submissions that consider the broad theme of intentionality in all its forms\, and from all perspectives. We are especially interested in the following themes: \; \;
\n- intentionality vs. intentions (intentional vs. intended acts)
\n- intentional inexistence
\n- collective vs. individual intentional acts
\n- intentionality as aboutness
\n- intention\, intentionality and introspection
\n- intentionality in/of art
\n- occurrent and dispositional intentions.
\nII) Ever since Kant declared emotions to be diseases of the soul because reason is then suspended\, the view of these drivers of our actions has been radically changed. Contemporary debates about emotions increasingly acknowledge their cognitive importance. Since the question of intentionality is unavoidable for thinking about cognition\, the question of the intentionality of emotions opens up. In the second part &ldquo\;Intentionality of Emotions&rdquo\;\, we invite contributions dealing with these problems.
\nProposals are to be sent to \;baf@f.bg.ac.rs \;as anonymous abstracts (maximum 500 words) and a separate title page by April 1\, 2025. The title page should include: title\, name\, institutional affiliation\, email\, and an indication of whether you would like to present in person. Also\, please let us know if your submission is for the first part of the conference &ldquo\;Intentionality&rdquo\;\, or for the second &ldquo\;Intentionality of emotions&rdquo\;\, or is intended to be an individual talk in-between the two events. The conference is hybrid (online and in-person)\, free and open to the public.
\nDecisions will be communicated by April 15\, 2025.
