DESCRIPTION:<p>This is a one-day intensive online seminar\, divided into three 90-minute sessions with 30-minute breaks between sessions. Tuition for the seminar is $99.00\, and students must register through the course site</p>\n<p>We will be focusing on the Self-Consciousness section of G.W.F. Hegel's early and influential text the Phenomenology of Spirit. In particular\, we will zero in on the famous "Master-Slave dialectic" portion of that section.</p>\n<p>Students will be provided with a number of useful handouts\, and will retain access to seminar recordings</p>\n<p>The order of the sessions in the seminar are:</p>\n<p>Part 1 - Self-Consciousness and the Master-Slave dialectic</p>\n<p>Part 2 - Selected interpretations of the Master-Slave dialectic by later philosophers</p>\n<p>Part 3 - Going beyond the Master-Slave dialectic in Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit</p>
