DESCRIPTION:<p>We invite submissions of abstracts for presentations at the workshop &ldquo\;Narratives across Fiction and Non-Fiction\,&rdquo\; to be held at Uppsala University on 11th\, 12th\, and 13th of June 2025. The workshop is organized by Andreas Stokke as part of the research project &ldquo\;Exploring the Shadowlands: Towards an Understanding of the Interaction between Fiction and Non-Fiction\,&rdquo\; funded by the Swedish Research Council.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>Invited speakers:&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>David Davies</p>\n<p>Nils Franz&eacute\;n</p>\n<p>Rachel Fraser</p>\n<p>Stacie Friend</p>\n<p>Hannah Kim</p>\n<p>Emar Maier</p>\n<p>Enrico Terrone</p>\n<p>Emanuel Viebahn</p>\n\n<p>Potential topics might include (in no particular order):</p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Fictionalizing tendencies in non-fictional narratives</li>\n<li>The nature of narratives</li>\n<li>Learning from narratives\, fictional or not</li>\n<li>How to draw the fiction-non-ficiton divide\, if at all</li>\n<li>Linguistic characteristics of narrativity</li>\n<li>Epistemic framing</li>\n<li>Meta-narrative comments or asides</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>But contributions on other topics in the vicinity are also welcome.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>Talks should be about 45 min. long.</p>\n\n<p>Travel and accommodation will be covered for all speakers.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>Submissions should be sent to fiction2025@yahoo.com no later than 15 March 2025. In your email please include two separate documents\, both in pdf format: (i) A title page with your name\, affiliation\, and contact details\, (ii) Your sumbmission with a title and abstract of your proposed talk of maximum 500 words\, and a reference list (if applicable). (ii) should be entirely anonymized.</p>
