DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Update: We are pleased to&nbsp\;announce&nbsp\;that Joe Halpern\, Cornell University\, will be our fourth&nbsp\;keynote speaker.</strong></p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>The Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science announces its <strong>Fourth Graduate Conference in Philosophy of Probability</strong> to be held at the London School of Economics and Political Science.</p>\n<p><strong>Conference Description</strong></p>\n<p>Submissions are invited from graduate students and early career researchers (up to two years after the award of their PhD). Papers may be on any topic within the philosophy of probability\, including\, but not limited to\, Bayesian epistemology\, the foundations of statistics\, decision theory and probabilistic causation. We especially encourage submissions on applications of probabilities in the natural\, social and medical sciences.</p>\n<p><strong>Important Dates</strong></p>\n<p>Deadline for submissions: 23 March 2014</p>\n<p>Notification of acceptance: 6 April 2014</p>\n<p>Conference: 6-7 June 2014</p>\n<p><strong>Submission Information</strong></p>\n<p>Authors are asked to submit short abstracts of up to 250 words and extended abstracts of up to 1500 words\, prepared for blind-review\, through our EasyChair Conference page:</p>\n<p>https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=gcpplse4.</p>\n<p>Authors of accepted papers will have 20 minutes to present their work followed by 10 minutes of discussion.</p>\n<p><strong>Travel Grants</strong></p>\n<p>There are 6 travel grants of up to 150 GBP available to help authors of accepted papers to cover the costs of their travel and accommodation. The selection will be made based on merit.
