DESCRIPTION:
The question of how perception and memory accurately represent the world is a central one in philosophy of perception and philosophy of memory. While much work has been dedicated to exploring the nature of accurate representations in perception and memory individually\, not much has been said about the relationship between perceptual and mnemonic accurate representations. Recent developments in the existing literature\, which emphasize the existence of commonalities between the content and format of perceptual and mnemonic representations and the interdependence of the processes responsible for producing those representations\, highlight some interesting points of contact between these two domains. The goal of this workshop is\, therefore\, to promote a more systematic discussion of the relationship between accuracy in perception and memory by bringing together philosophers of perception and philosophers of memory working on related issues.
\n
After the success of the first edition\, we are organizing a second edition to move on the discussions on accuracy in Perception and Memory.
\n
Invited speakers:
\n
Raquel Krempel (UFABC)
\n
Ying-Tung Lin (NYCU)
\n
Jonathan Mitchell (Cardiff)
\n
Kengo Miyazono (Hokkaido)
\n
James Openshaw (Nanyang)
\n
Francesca Righetti (RUB)
\n
Andrew Rubner (NYU)
\n
Susanna Schellenberg (Rutgers)
\n
Uku Tooming (Tartu)
\n
The event is hosted by the Philosophy Graduate Program at the Universidade Federal de Goi&aacute\;s (PPGFil-UFG)\, Brazil\, in partnership with the Universit&eacute\; de Gen&egrave\;ve and the Ruhr-Universit&auml\;t Bochum.
