DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>&nbsp\;ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF DELEUZE(NESS)</strong></p>\n\n<p>International symposium</p>\n<p><strong>18-19 September 2025</strong></p>\n<p>National Gallery of Art\, Konstitucijos pr. 22\, Vilnius</p>\n\n\n<p>French philosopher Gilles Deleuze was born on January 18\, 1925. This year\, we celebrate one hundred years of Deleuze(ness) and acknowledge his profound influence on contemporary philosophy and beyond.&nbsp\;Deleuze redefined ontology by replacing the concept of substance with multiplicity\, essence with event\, and possibility with virtuality. After 1968\, alongside F&eacute\;lix Guattari\, a political activist and psychoanalyst\, they developed an original notion of schizoanalysis as a critique of capitalism and the state. A passionate lover of the arts\, Deleuze also produced numerous original interpretations of visual\, literary\, and cinematic works.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><br>Deleuze&rsquo\;s philosophical ideas&nbsp\;have generated a vast body of explication and interpretation\, as well as critique\, especially from feminist and postcolonial thinkers. They have also sparked ongoing polemics\, notably with thinkers such as Slavoj Žižek and Alain Badiou. Interest in Deleuze continues to grow\,&nbsp\;particularly in relation to contemporary sciences\, new directions in philosophy &ndash\; such as new materialism and agential realism &ndash\; and emerging indigenous cosmologies. In light of these latest developments\, we invite submissions that explore Deleuze&rsquo\;s relevance in contemporary thought\, including but not limited to:</p>\n\n<p>Deleuze and contemporary philosophy\;</p>\n<p>Deleuze and artistic practices\;</p>\n<p>Deleuze and Guattari on politics and cosmopolitics\;</p>\n<p>Deleuze and contemporary science\;</p>\n<p>Deleuze and Guattari on education and psychoanalysis.</p>\n<p>Proposals of up to 300 words should be sent to&nbsp\;konferencijos.lkti.sfs@gmail.com</a><strong>&nbsp\;</strong>by&nbsp\;<strong>31&nbsp\;</strong><strong>May</strong><strong>&nbsp\;202</strong><strong>5</strong>. Please include the speaker&rsquo\;s name and institutional affiliation.
