Il tempo di presentazione orale dei paper &egrave\; di <strong>20 minuti</strong>\, seguiti da una discussione di <strong>10 minuti</strong>. Le sessioni si terranno unicamente <strong>in presenza</strong>.</p>\n<p>Al fine di garantire l&rsquo\;anonimato\, l&rsquo\;abstract non dovr&agrave\; contenere alcuna informazione che possa rendere l&rsquo\;autore/autrice riconoscibile. Gli autori\, le cui proposte saranno state accettate\, riceveranno un invito ufficiale a presentare il loro intervento al convegno.</p>\n<p>Enrico Volpe</p>\n<p>Comitato Organizzativo-Scientifico di Eleatica</p>\n\n<p>[Italian above]</p>\n<p><strong>Call for Papers</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Eleatica XIV - Open Sessions 2025</strong></p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Ancient philosophers between Biographies and Currents</strong></p>\n<p>ELEATICA\, the International Conference on Ancient Philosophy dedicated to Eleatic philosophy and directed by Stefania Giombini (Universitat Aut&ograve\;noma de Barcelona)\, is promoted by the Fondazione Alario Elea-Velia Impresa Sociale in collaboration with the Societ&agrave\; Filosofica Italiana (SFI) and with the support of prestigious national and international organisations and universities.</p>\n<p>Eleatica XIV will be held at the headquarters of the Fondazione Alario per Elea-Velia Impresa Sociale\, in Ascea (SA)\, Italy\, from 13 to 16 September 2025. The three keynote lectures\, delivered by Massimo Pulpito (SFI - Liceo &lsquo\;Aristosseno&rsquo\; of Taranto - C&aacute\;tedra Unesco Archai)\, will explore the theme of &ldquo\;The prodigious double-tongued Zeno&rdquo\;.</p>\n<p>Alongside the lectures\, Eleatica organises sessions open to external speakers on the history of ancient philosophy.</p>\n<p>The theme chosen for the Call for Abstracts 2025 is &ldquo\;Ancient philosophers between biographies and currents&rdquo\;.</p>\n<p><em>&nbsp\;</em></p>\n<p>Possible (but not exclusive) areas of interest are</p>\n<p>&ndash\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Ancient biographical sources: role\, relevance\, reliability\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Biography as a source for the reconstruction of philosophical thought\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The &lsquo\;history of philosophy&rsquo\; of ancient authors\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The relationship between life and thought in the doctrines of ancient philosophers\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Schools\, currents and ancient philosophical movements.</p>\n<p>Guidelines:</p>\n<p>The abstract (maximum 250 words in length in .pdf format) must be sent to the email address: <strong>cfpeleatica@gmail</strong>.<strong>com</strong>. The following languages will be allowed: Italian\, English\, Spanish\, French\, German and Portuguese. The allotted time for the oral presentation of each paper is <strong>20 minutes</strong>\, followed by <strong>10 minutes</strong> of discussion. The sessions will take place <strong>in person</strong>.</p>\n<p>In order to guarantee anonymity\, abstracts must not contain any information that could identify the author. The email must have the subject line &ldquo\;Eleatica XIV Proposal&rdquo\; and contain <strong>two separate attachments</strong>.</p>\n<p><strong>The first attachment</strong> should contain the following information:</p>\n<p>&ndash\; Author&rsquo\;s first and last name (as you wish to appear in the programme)\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\; Institution\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\; Title or position (e.g. PhD student\, independent researcher\, associate professor\, etc.)\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\; City/Country\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\; Title of the presentation\;</p>\n<p>&ndash\; E-mail address.</p>\n<p><strong>The second attachment</strong> should contain the abstract and the title of the presentation\, without the author&rsquo\;s name.</p>\n<p>Abstracts must be submitted by <strong>10 May 2025</strong>.</p>\n<p>Authors will be notified of the final selection decision by email by <strong>30 May 2025</strong>.
