DESCRIPTION:<p>CALL FOR ABSTRACTS<br> <br> European Consortium for Political Research Conference (ECPR)\, University of<br> Glasgow\, 3 - 6 September 2014.<br> ECPR Kantian Standing Group<br> Section: Kant and Kantian Constructivism in Moral and Political Philosophy<br> Section chairs: Sorin Baiasu (Keele University and University of Vienna) and<br> Alice Pinheiro Walla (Trinity College Dublin)<br> <br> Panel: "Constructing Roles and Institutions Kant&rsquo\;s Moral and Political Thought&rdquo\;<br> <br> The ECPR Kantian Standing Group is now inviting abstract proposals for the<br> panel "Constructing Roles and Institutions in Kant&rsquo\;s Moral and Political<br> Thought&rdquo\; chaired by Garrath Williams (Lancaster University) and Alice<br> Pinheiro Walla (Trinity College Dublin).<br> <br> The panel "Constructing Roles and Institutions&rdquo\; will focus on how human<br> activity can &ldquo\;construct&rdquo\; intelligible realities and how Kant&rsquo\;s Moral and<br> political thought can help us better understand these practical phenomena.<br> One clear example is the institution of private property\, but the panel will<br> also explore other domains where one can speak of "mine"\, such as status<br> relationships\, personal relationships and roles that form the building<br> blocks of institutions and organisations.<br> <br> The panel welcomes contributions focusing on Kantian exegesis\, exploring<br> debates within contemporary Kantian philosophy (or both) and critical<br> approaches to Kantian constructivism.<br> <br> Please submit abstracts of no more than 250 words to: <a href="mailto:pinheira@tcd.ie">pinheira@tcd.ie</a> no<br> later than February 13\, 2014.</p>
