Some contemporary applications will be suggested.<br> <br> BIO:<br> Douglas Moggach is Distinguished University Professor in Political Studies and Philosophy at the University of Ottawa\, and Honorary Professor at the University of Sydney. The winner of a Killam Research Fellowship\, he has published widely in German philosophy\, including The Philosophy and Politics of Bruno Bauer (CUP 2003)\; (ed.)
