DESCRIPTION:<p>The next meeting of the Sign-Language-Reality seminar in the academic year 2024/25 will take place:</p>\n<p>Thursday\, the 10th of April 2025\, 17.00\, Central European Time</p>\n<p>Claudia Picazo Jacque</p>\n<p>(UNED)</p>\n<p>will deliver a talk:</p>\n<p>Exploiting Ambiguity</p>\n<p>(joint work with Laura Delgado)</p>\n\n<p>Abstract:</p>\n<p>Although we typically aim at disambiguating between the possible meanings or contents of our expressions\, we are often quite happy with ambiguities: we tolerate them and even exploit them for various purposes. This paper explores the often-overlooked phenomenon of ambiguity exploitation in communication\, and the plural semantic intentions it involves.
