DESCRIPTION:<p>The department of Philosophy at King's College London is pleased to invite submissions for a two day workshop presenting new work on reference\, on the 23rd-24th of May\, with a keynote speech from Eliot Michaelson (KCL) . We are accepting submissions on all aspects of reference\, broadly construed. Topics of interest might include (though are not limited to):</p>\n<ul>\n<li>the relations between reference and other important notions in philosophy of language: truth\, normativity\, meaning\, predication\, etc</li>\n<li>theories of the nature of reference within different metasemantic frameworks (causal theories\, inferentialism\, formal theories of reference\, etc.)</li>\n<li>varieties of reference in different modalities: mental\, perpetual\, linguistic\, etc.</li>\n<li>varieties of reference in different media: pictorial reference\, maps\, etc.</li>\n<li>reference and vagueness</li>\n<li>names and naming</li>\n</ul>\n<p>To submit please fill out the following form\, with a 500-word abstract\, by April the 20th: https://forms.gle/zos68X8rki43puyT9&nbsp\; &nbsp\; Abstracts must be anonymised. The word count does not include any references or bibliography.
