DESCRIPTION:<p>Call for papers:&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The Salzburg Ethics Group (https://salzburgethics.com/) invite submissions for their second conference for the three-year project &lsquo\;The Source View on the Right to Privacy&rsquo\;.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>The topic of the conference will be 'The Philosophy of Privacy'.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The conference will provide a platform for scholars to present their work in plenary sessions\, to share their ideas with colleagues\, and to explore the ways that privacy intersects with other areas of philosophy.</p>\n<p>As the first workshop took place online\, this one will take place in-person at The University of Salzburg\, from the 22nd&nbsp\;to 23rd&nbsp\;of September. There will be talks by Annabelle Lever\, Asja Ahatović\, Leonhard Menges and Elizabeth Ventham.</p>\n<p>We would like to invite submissions of abstracts of up to 500 words for the conference.</p>\n<p>Possible topics include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>How does the value&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;privacy&nbsp\;contrast with values like sharing and being known?</li>\n<li>Is&nbsp\;privacy&nbsp\;a pro tanto good?&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>Or is&nbsp\;privacy&nbsp\;only ever instrumentally good?</li>\n<li>How does&nbsp\;privacy&nbsp\;relate to values like equality and social justice?</li>\n<li>What can theorising about&nbsp\;privacy&nbsp\;tell us about digital ethics?</li>\n<li>What domains can we have privacy over?</li>\n<li>Can groups have privacy?</li>\n<li>Can privacy get in the way of empathy?</li>\n<li>Is&nbsp\;privacy&nbsp\;about access\, control\, or both?</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>&nbsp\;</u></p>\n<p>If you would like to present at the conference\, please prepare an abstract of up to 500 words for blind review and send it in an email to&nbsp\;Elizabeth.ventham@plus.ac.at&nbsp\;by April 28th.</p>\n<p>We are committed to equality along all axes\, and submissions from members of under-represented groups in philosophy are especially welcome.</p>\n\n<p>The Source View on the Right to Privacy is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF)\, project number&nbsp\;P 36226-G.
