Mimesis in Philosophy and Literature: Representation\, Truth\, and Meaning
\nNesir: Journal of Literary Studies invites submissions for its ninth issue\, scheduled for publication in October 2025\, focusing on the multifaceted concept of mimesis across philosophical and literary contexts. Historically rooted in ancient Greek thought\, mimesis has evolved from notions of imitation to encompass complex theories of representation\, desire\, subjectivity\, and cultural expression.
\nThis issue seeks to explore mimesis not merely as replication but as a dynamic framework influencing aesthetic\, ethical\, and political discourses. We welcome contributions that examine mimesis through various lenses\, including but not limited to:
\n&bull\;Classical interpretations by Plato and Aristotle
\n&bull\;Psychoanalytic perspectives from Freud and Lacan
\n&bull\;Theories of mimetic desire by Girard
\n&bull\;Narrative structures in Ricoeur&rsquo\;s philosophy
\n&bull\;Auerbach&rsquo\;s literary realism
\n&bull\;Contemporary applications in digital media and virtual realities
\nSubmissions may address topics such as the transformation of mimesis from antiquity to postmodernism\, its role in linguistic structures\, its manifestation in various media\, and its implications in cultural and social modeling.
\nWe accept original research articles\, critical essays\, translations\, research notes\, and book reviews written in Turkish or English. Manuscripts should be between 3\,000 and 15\,000 words\, adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition)\, and include an abstract (200&ndash\;250 words) with 4&ndash\;7 keywords.
