It is a pleasure to announce the first edition of the LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS OF AFFECTIVE SCIENCES\, an interdisciplinary event that aims not only to integrate approaches on emotions and affectivity\, but also to bring together researchers from different Latin American countries who work on the subject. Our program will feature speakers from the fields of philosophy\, psychology\, anthropology\, literature and neuroscience\, not only from Brazil\, but also from Argentina\, Chile\, Mexico and Colombia. We hope to create a plural environment of interaction interdisciplinary dialogue in which partnerships can be established and transformed into research networks throughout Latin America. In particular\, this event will launch the LATIN AMERICAN NETWORK OF AFFECTIVE STUDIES and the ANPOF WORK GROUP ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF EMOTIONS\, two important milestones in the study of emotions in Latin America. This will be the first time that an academic conference in Brazil brings together researchers from so many different fields and countries on the subject of emotions\, providing a unique opportunity for academic and professional development for students and teachers.

The Organizing Committee of the I LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS OF AFFECTIVE SCIENCES invites researchers from all areas to submit their paper proposals and join the LATIN AMERICAN NETWORK OF AFFECTIVE STUDIES and the ANPOF WORK GROUP ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF EMOTIONS. The event will be held at the Jesuit College of Philosophy and Theology in Belo Horizonte\, Brazil\, from August 12 to 14\, 2025. All topics are welcome\, as long as they concern emotions and affectivity.
