DESCRIPTION:
CFP 2025 &bull\; TOPIC: CARE &bull\;&nbsp\;DEADLINE: 15 DEC 2025

The paper should focus on any philosophical issues linked to the concept of&nbsp\;care&nbsp\;&mdash\; a word whose etymology refers to other therms\, e.g.\,&nbsp\;curiosity&nbsp\;&mdash\; and as such\, it invites contributions from several philosophical fields. Papers might refer to the relationship between care and&nbsp\;time&nbsp\;(Heidegger)\, or between the&nbsp\;other&nbsp\;and the&nbsp\;self&nbsp\;(Sartre)\, possibly with a focus on the role of the&nbsp\;dialogue&nbsp\;(Buber\, Taylor). Care might be related to a means to&nbsp\;control&nbsp\;(Foucault). Generally\, the concept of care is crucial in many&nbsp\;ethical&nbsp\;perspectives\, e.g.\,&nbsp\;responsibility&nbsp\;(L&eacute\;vinas\, Jonas). It is also a key-element in&nbsp\;philosophical anthropology\, e.g.\, linked to the concept of&nbsp\;love&nbsp\;(Scheler\, Ortega y Gasset). Care is also a term that is discussed in&nbsp\;aesthetics&nbsp\;(Nietzsche\, Benjamin\, Adorno\, Byung-Chul Han).&nbsp\;Care ethics&nbsp\;might be also discussed from&nbsp\;feminism&nbsp\;(Gilligan\, Tronto). Care has to do with important&nbsp\;pedagogical&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;psychological&nbsp\;theories (Winnicott\, Piaget\, Jung\, Hillman). Possible analyses might focus on the role of&nbsp\;technology&nbsp\;and whether it has changed care\, particularly in areas such as&nbsp\;medicine\, e.g.\,&nbsp\;bioethics\, or&nbsp\;communication&nbsp\;(Floridi). Care might be extended to other recipients\, such as&nbsp\;migrants\,&nbsp\;animals\, and foster a discussion on&nbsp\;environmental ethics. Care might be related to&nbsp\;emotions&nbsp\;(Nussbaum). Care might be explored from opposite elements\, such as\,&nbsp\;disregard\,&nbsp\;disrespect\,&nbsp\;contempt\,&nbsp\;disdain\,&nbsp\;indifference\, up to the extreme forms\, e.g.\,&nbsp\;violence. Papers might consider the relationship between care and&nbsp\;tolerance. Finally\, the role of care in&nbsp\;religions&nbsp\;might be a possible topic.
