DESCRIPTION:
Debating Temporal Ontology:
\n
The Existence of Yesterday and
\n
Tomorrow
\n
Message from the Guest Editor
\n
Temporal metaphysis has long been concerned with
\n
temporal ontology\; that is\, the study of which times exist\,
\n
and\, further\, what nature times have (are they concrete
\n
things or abstract objects). This Special Issue
\n
investigates temporal ontology and its connection to a
\n
broad range of questions about the nature of time and
\n
experience. In this Special Issue\, original research
\n
articles are welcome. Research areas may include (but
\n
are not limited to) the following:
\n
- Temporal ontology and models of time (including
\n
presentism\, the growing block\, eternalism)
\n
- Connections between temporal ontology and temporal
\n
passage
\n
- Temporal ontology and time travel
\n
- Temporal ontology and the ontological nature of times
\n
(i.e.\, abstract versus concrete)
\n
- Temporal ontology and temporal experience
\n
- Temporal ontology and truthmaking
\n
- Temporal ontology and modality
\n
- Temporal ontology and freedom
\n
- Change and temporal ontology
\n
- Temporal ontology and physics (especially general
\n
and special relativity\, and quantum gravity)
\n
- Temporal ontology\, temporal direction\, and ph
