DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Call for Abstracts</strong>: Inaugural Central New York Philosophy of Language Workshop</p>\n<p><strong>Event Date</strong>: October 17\, 2024<br><strong>Location</strong>: Syracuse University<br><strong>Keynote Speaker</strong>: Gabriel Greenberg (UCLA)</p>\n<p>Scholars working on the philosophy of language are invited to submit paper abstracts for the inaugural meeting of the Central New York Philosophy of Language Workshop (CNYPLW). We welcome submissions from faculty\, postdoctoral researchers\, and graduate students in philosophy or cognate disciplines (linguistics\, cognitive science\, or others). The workshop will be held on October 17\, 2025\, at Syracuse University.</p>\n<p><strong>Submission Guidelines:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Abstracts should be between 500-1000 words and prepared for blind review.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>The format of the workshop will be pre-read\, so full papers (up to 10\,000 words) will be expected in advance for distribution to participants.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>To promote scholarship within the Central New York Humanities Corridor\, preference may be given to scholars at corridor institutions (Syracuse University\, Cornell University\, University of Rochester\, Colgate University\,Hamilton College\, Hobart and William Smith Colleges\, Skidmore College\, St. Lawrence\, University\, Union College\, Le Moyne College\, Rochester Institute of Technology).</p>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Travel Funding:</strong></p>\n<p>Travel funding is available for participants from corridor institutions.
