He is a&nbsp\;<strong>Professor at UMass Boston and Executive Director of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies (IEET)</strong>.</p>\n\n<p>He is the author of several articles\, book chapters and books that are a reference for researchers on transhumanism\, posthumanism\, emerging technologies\, technological unemployment\, universal basic income\, human enhancement\, among other central topics of contemporary academic debate.</p>\n\n\n<p>His book&nbsp\;<strong><em>Citizen Cyborg: Why Democratic Societies Must Respond to the Redesigned Human of the Nature</em></strong>&nbsp\;(2004) is one of the main references for scholars of transhumanism. His most recent book\,&nbsp\;<strong><em>The Biopolitics of Human Enhancement&nbsp\;</em></strong>(2025)\, edited together with Steven Umbrello and Cristiano Cal&igrave\;\, addresses a series of aspects of the debate on human enhancement\, bringing together theoretical and practical contributions on it.</p>\n\n<p>We're keen to see you!</p>\n\n<p><strong>Murilo Vila&ccedil\;a (Fiocruz/GIFT-H+/CNPq)</strong>.</p>
