The Concerned Philosophers for Peace (CPP) are hosting a group session at the APA Pacific in 2026 on "Democracy at the Crossroads." \; The session as well as the entire conference is hosted wholly online. \; The session concerns political philosophy on what the most legitimate form of government is\, such as between deliberative democracy\, a Confucian meritocracy that assesses the merit of leaders\, an epistocracy that assesses the knowledge of voters\, lottocracy where political decision-makers are selected by random lottery\, or other possible forms of government. \; Furthermore\, we accept abstracts on what form of government can best address particular political or moral issues\, such as just war theory\, racism\, distributive justice\, and the environment. \; 750 max word and blinded abstracts need to be submitted by the end of August 31\, 2025 Pacific Time to \;john.park@csus.edu.
