The \;international \;conference «\;Rule \;Following: Reasoning\, Reason\, Rationality»\; will be held at the \;Higher School of Economics \;(HSE)\, \;Moscow \;on \;October 21-22\, 2014. The conference is concerned with \; \;the development of the conceptual apparatus for analysis \;of theoretical and practical rationality\; the reconstruction of the context of use such categories as "reasoning"\, "reason"\, "intellect"\, "power of judgment"\, "intelligence"\, "phronesis"\, "rule"\, "normativity"\; the critical evaluation of traditional criteria and norms of rationality (the utility\, optimality\, efficiency\, compliance with a scientific paradigm\, cultural traditions\, or social conventions\, etc.)\; \;the study of historical and methodological foundations for different conceptions of rationality (optimization-based models for rationality\, bounded rationality\, communicative rationality\, interactive rationality etc.). Special attention will be paid to the problem of \;rule-following. The study of the \;rule-following \;problem could shed light on the key issues of contemporary epistemology associated with the criticism of interpretationism\, platonism\, mentalism\, skepticism\, psychologism\, subjectivism.
The working languages \;of the conference will be \;Russian\, English and French. \;Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
