DESCRIPTION:<p>Higher-order metaphysics is a growing movement at the intersection of metaphysics and philosophical logic. It is characterized by the use of higher-order formal languages in philosophical theorizing&mdash\;typically in metaphysics\, but with important applications in the philosophy of language and mind.</p>\n<p>Since 2016\, a series of workshops have provided a dedicated venue for philosophers working in higher-order metaphysics to share their research and engage with a wider community. Supported by the New York Institute of Philosophy\, <em>HOMeWork 8</em> will continue this tradition at New York University on <strong>November 15&ndash\;16\, 2025</strong> (Saturday&mdash\;Sunday).</p>\n<p>We invite submissions of <strong>extended abstracts</strong> (anything from a couple of paragraphs to a full paper) prepared for <strong>anonymous review</strong>. We welcome submissions\, on any philosophical topic\, that are about or make use of higher-order languages&mdash\;broadly construed.
